Founded in 1970, the Alliance is the leading citizens' advocacy organization that works to conserve and restore the world's largest freshwater resource through policy, education and local efforts, ensuring a healthy Great Lakes and clean water for generations of people and wildlife.

Great Lakes United

Healing Our Waters
Healing Our Waters is a collaborative report of 70 scientists, environmentalists, ecologists and academics who were brought together by the Wege Foundation and who's website is maintained by Tip of the Mit Watershed Council
Inland Seas Education Association
The organization uses the research of scientists from the U.S. and Canada to educate the public about protecting the Great Lakes
Lake Charlevoix Association
The Lake Charlevoix Association, founded in the belief that the lake is a shared public resource, promotes protection of that resource in ways that are consistent with reasonable lake usage and sustainable development.
Lake Erie Region Conservancy
Providing environmental efforts for the Northwestern Pennsylvania region of Lake Erie, LERC was formed in 2000 as a local, non-profit, membership-supported organization
Federation of Ontario Cottagers' Associations
A voluntary organization that provides assistance and leadership to the waterfront of Ontario's cottagers.
National Wildlife Federation

Great Lakes Information Network
GLIN is managed by the Great Lakes Commission, based in Ann Arbor, and is dedicated to providing education about the environmental issues, economy,tourism and more around the Great Lakes region.
Clinton River Watershed Council
The Clinton River Watershed Council (CRWC) is dedicated to protecting, enhancing and celebrating the Clinton River, its watershed and Lake St. Clair.

Great Ships Initiative
A collaborative research group of scientists and government officials that studies invasive species entering the Great Lakes by ships through the St. Lawrence Seaway, and works to create legislation on ballast water.
