Any form of entertaining or intriguing activity involving the Great Lakes and/or their surrounding areas. Feel free to post or add any information or original work related to boating, fishing, camping, hunting, festivals, tourism, etc. But recreation is about enjoyment and relaxation so don't feel limited to just the topics we've listed here and have fun with it because that's what it's all about.
Products extracted from mines constitute 40 percent of the goods shipped on the Great Lakes. Iron ore, coal, coke, salt and stone are the major products in this area.
Coal is shipped in great quantities from Lake Erie ports to steel mills and electricity-generating plants.
