Lake Superior Conservancy and Watershed Council

From Great Lakes Wiki

As two organizations in one LSCWC is a bi-national effort of some 20 founding members and organizations including The Nature Conservancy and Nature Conservancy of Canada. Founded in 2004 as a non-profit with charitable status, LSCWC is dedicated to the long-term health and preservation of Lake Superior and its ecosystems. The Conservancy's goal is to protect the region through land trust initiatives and related stewardship. The Watershed Council focus is to protect water, wetlands, habitats, headwater areas and river and stream corridors. Increasing awareness of other's efforts for example, 27 year old Seth Wotten who started a canoe trek in April 2006 between Montreal and Tuktoyaktuk. Along the way he encourages fellow Canadians to write politicians and join watershed groups. http://www.wffg.ca.
