Talk:Lake Superior

From Great Lakes Wiki

NIce improvement. Good lede. Let's reference Hiawatha after the quote so readers know enough to make the linke that the quote is part of poem you mention few sentences later. Credite the images and get them to line up better with the sections. --Dave 15:39, 12 Nov 2006 (EST)

Ahhh. That's more like it. Lake Superior is one of the most gorgeious lakes in the world. I'd much rather be greeted by this scene than a list of facts and figures. But also give me a bit of story to get me interested - what did native Americans call it? How cold does it get? Didn't someone write a song about a ship that sunk there? Start with something funky to draw in your readers.

I really like the timeline/history. Shipwreck section was a cool idea. Any links for that? We really should create a shipwrecks page for the history section of our site. Remind me to promote that in class.

Shipping industry is another cool idea with unique layout

Flora and fauna?? Write the way people speak, avoid the sciency jargon.

Get some basic info into photo cutlines (captions); Make at least some references to where you've found your data, info.

Make your exteranl links words that telegraph where you're linking, not numbers.

Well organized with some original ideas. You're on right track. Dave
